Williams, 48, was taken into custody by Pierce County deputies at his workplace. This followed an investigation initiated after a voyeurism incident was reported on August 28, 2024, in the nearby Bonney Lake area. Authorities were informed that a 14-year-old girl discovered a USB plug-in charger containing a hidden camera in a shared bathroom used by her and her 11-year-old sister. The device was recovered, and deputies collected statements from the family.
Upon reviewing the device, detectives discovered videos and photos of the stepdaughter and a 14-year-old friend. This evidence led to the issuance of a search warrant for Williams’ residence. Detectives found sufficient grounds to arrest Williams on charges of voyeurism and child p0r*graphy.
The arrest was executed without incident at Spanaway Lake High School. As part of the investigation, deputies also searched Williams’ home for additional evidence. Williams has since been booked into Pierce County Jail on child p0r*graphy and voyeurism charges.
The Bethel School District, which oversees Spanaway Lake High School, has confirmed the arrest and has taken measures to ensure the safety of its students and staff. An email sent to students and parents noted that the school was briefly placed on modified lockdown during the arrest. The district assured the community that there is no evidence suggesting any criminal activities took place at the school itself.
Christian Williams had been recognized as a distinguished educator, receiving accolades for his work as an AP Computer Science teacher during the 2019-2020 academic year. His arrest has sent ripples through the educational community, and the district is offering support to students and families affected by the situation.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities encourage anyone with further information to come forward.
