The communities of Dysart and La Porte City, Iowa are mourning the aftermath of a devastating car accident Tuesday that left one teenager dead and three injured. A 17-year-old man has died in a car accident near Jesup, Iowa.
According to the Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened at the intersection of Dubuque Road and South Canfield Road on Tuesday around 9:45 p.m. 10, 2024.
According to the school, the students were returning from an Oelwein and Union volleyball game at Yesup. According to the preliminary investigation, it was established that two cars were involved in the incident, 5 minors were in one of the cars. According to law enforcement officials, four minor passengers were taken to the hospital in a stable condition, and Rohrbach was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities say an adult woman from the other vehicle was taken to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in critical condition. “On September 10, 2024, sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Dubuque Road and South Canfield Road for a 2 vehicle accident at approximately 9:45 p.m.
Upon arrival it was determined that a Nissan Pathfinder SUV traveling southbound on South Canfield Road and running a stop sign in Dubuque collided with a Buick Rendezvous SUV in the intersection,” the Black Hawk County Sheriff’s statement said.
There were 5 minor passengers in the Nissan SUV, and one of them died on the spot. The other occupants were evaluated or transported for non-life threatening injuries.
