Multiple departments responded to the scene of a bad accident at a Campground in Indiana on Friday. Six people were transported to hospitals following an off-track accident on Friday evening, August 23, 2024. A heavy police presence is currently at the scene where a vehicle reportedly veered off the tracks and struck several individuals.
What Happened At The Wagler Motorsports Event?
According to reports, the Lyons Police Department, Fire, multiple ambulances, and an air ambulance were called to the Wagler Motorsports Park after a racing jeep veered off the track and ran into a tent occupied by multiple people.
The incident happened at Wagler Motorsports Park at 4425 W 300 S, Lyons, IN. One person was life-flighted to an Indiana-area hospital in a serious condition. Five others were taken to the hospital for treatment.
Following the crash, Wagler Motorsports announced that the Friday event was canceled. “Wagler Motorsports Park had an off-track incident this afternoon. We are currently working through this with the families and staff and have concluded Friday night events. We will resume tomorrow(Saturday) s scheduled Please respect the privacy of families and staff at this time until further info is released.”
Prayers are being offered to the families of the victims involved in the accident. The condition of the Jeep driver was described as critical. According to a close family, he is now in a medically induced coma.
