Eddie Brown Racing Accident: After a mishap on Thursday left a Rowan County participant and drag racing enthusiast in a coma, the Piedmont Dragway’s Big Dog racing event was postponed. Eddie Brown had a serious injury at the August 15th race at Piedmont Dragway Inc. in Julian, North Carolina, and was taken to the hospital.
Following tonight’s incident, Piedmont Dragway Inc. declared that all activities are hereby suspended. After the sad incident, the Eddie’s family has asked for prayers. “Eddie Brown had a bad wreck tonight and needs our prayers,” said God Speed Ministry’s Chaplain Greg Parker in a news release.
Eddie resides in Faith, North Carolina. He founded Finish Touch Custom Remodeling, a company, after winning $250,000 from a $5 Carolina Black scratch-off in 2019. After the accident, the 15 Big Dog, which was originally scheduled on August 8, has been suspended.
“Praying for Eddie Brown and family. He’s one tough man. He was in a bad wreck tonight at Piedmont. Keep them in your thoughts and prayers. We will be doing a raffle for him tomorrow night at Big Dog,” Piedmont Dragway said in a Facebook post.
