Lake Fenton Drowning: Genesee County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a missing person at a Fenton Township lake this morning. A heavy police presence is seen this morning in the W Thompson Rd in Fenton Twp, Michigan, following a report of a person seen struggling inside the Lake Fenton waters.
West Thompson Road is closed due to police investigations on Monday morning. This is the second drowning incident at the lake. Genesee County Sheriff’s Office found Austin James Berger dead following reports of a missing vulnerable person.
A missing person was found dead in a lake near Fenton Township.
The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office stated Thursday afternoon that the body of a “missing vulnerable person” had been discovered deceased. According to police, Austin James Berger’s body was discovered in Marl Lake in Fenton Township. They add that Berger seemed to have drowned by accident.
The sheriff’s office said the investigation is still in its early stages, but there are no signs of foul play. The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office issued a “missing vulnerable person” warning on June 25, after he was last seen on June 23.
The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office is sad to report that Austin James Berger was discovered dead earlier this afternoon. Austin appeared to have drowned by accident at Marl Lake in Fenton Township. Austin James Berger, 6’1″, 250 lbs, born 8/15/1990. Austin was last seen on Sunday, June 23, 2024, at 8:15 p.m. on the 16000 block of Hi-Land Trail in Fenton Township. Austin frequently walks along Owen Road, Downtown Fenton, and Silver Lake Parkway. He was last spotted wearing a red t-shirt and an unknown color of shorts.
