Diane J. DuBois, whose maiden name was Shea, passed away recently at the age of 62, leaving behind a legacy defined by love, generosity, and a strong sense of community. Diane was a committed Catholic who was a treasured member of her community. She was well-known for her fun-loving personality and the profound ties she had with her siblings, friends, and relatives.
Her death has created a vacuum in the lives of those who were fortunate enough to have known and loved her. Diane was a devoted mother to her three kids, Matt, who is engaged to Shelby Hamilton, Tom, who is partnered with Courtney Trunk, and Jason. She was the cherished wife of Steve DuBois and the mother of three sons. Her family was the most important thing in her life, and she took great pride in being a devoted and supporting mother and wife.
Furthermore, Diane was a devoted sister of Nancy (Antonio) Aguilar, Sue (Mark) Wagner, Father Edward Shea Jr., Eileen (Todd) Plantenga, Dan (Cindy) Shea, Julie (Rick) Cannon, and Maureen (Dave) Stephenson. She was also a beloved sister to all of these individuals. She was the cherished daughter of Eileen, whose maiden name was Garibaldi, and Edward F. Shea, who did not survive her. Additionally, she was the devoted daughter-in-law of Corrine DuBois and Raymond DuBois Jr., who also passed away. The members of Diane’s extended family included her sisters-in-law Michele (John) Priscal and Mike (Michelle) DuBois, in addition to a large number of nieces and nephews, all of whom held her in the highest regard.
On Thursday, August 15, 2024, from three o’clock in the afternoon to eight o’clock in the evening, there will be a visitation held at Gibbons Funeral Home in Elmhurst to celebrate the life of Diane. Visitation Catholic Church in Elmhurst will be the location where friends and family will come together for a Mass of Christian Burial at ten o’clock in the morning on the following day, which is Friday, August 16, 2024. In accordance with the desires of the family, the burial will be held in private conditions.
A terrible loss has been inflicted upon Diane’s family, friends, and the larger community as a result of her demise. Those individuals who had the good fortune to have known her will continue to be inspired by her legacy of kindness, joy, and altruism. Despite the fact that she will be sorely missed, her memory will endure in the hearts of everyone who was moved by the wonderful qualities she possessed.
