I have heard many people in the last few days state that “the” Democrats have failed them.
“The Democratic leaders” are not doing “their” job. That “Washington” needs to have back up plans to feed people.
To those people I say, you are using the wrong pronouns.
We are the Democrats. We are the leaders, and we need to feed people.
Don’t just send money, feed people. I feed Dan and Christine. Dan has one leg and sits in a wheelchair in the cold and the rain and the burning sun. With simply a sign “homeless, please help.”
He and Christine live in the woods. They have no smartphones, no address, no EBT. And yet there are signs, and I’m looking at you “who care” in Enfield, saying not to give them money. To let them starve. I feed them.
Panhandling is the toughest job in the world. Are you judging people? Are you lying to yourself and saying they will just buy drugs? Are you judging their illness if they do? I work in prisons. They are doing drugs the right way. Just standing there with a sign. Not breaking into your car. Just standing there with a sign. Give them food. Feed someone. You. Today.
