According to PSP Gettysburg Cameron Norris, Jocelyn Megee, of Fairfield, passed away at the site of the collision on Route 16 at 3170 Waynesboro Pike at 7:08 p.m. Public records state she resides 2.8 miles down the road.
According to Trooper Norris, she was driving a 2014 Jeep Cherokee west when the intense rain caused her to lose control of the car. She hit an embankment, flipped onto the driver’s side, and slid into the other lane of traffic that was traveling east. This is when the 2020 Volvo tractor-trailer struck the Jeep head-on.
The truck driver, 44, from Hagerstown, Maryland, was not hurt in the collision. The drivers had both fastened their seatbelts. According to the PSP announcement, the cars were taken to a lot for “further inspection.” Following the deadly incident, PSP closed Waynesboro Pike in both directions close to the border between Adams and Franklin counties. Shortly after 11 p.m., the road reopened.
According to PSP, a coroner from the Adams County Coroner’s Office arrived at the scene. The next of kin of Jocelyn has been informed. According to her social media, Jocelyn was a horse girl who enjoyed riding and taking care of them. She liked taking care of all kinds of animals, and during the pandemic, she raised pigs. As per her last Facebook post, she went to a dog grooming school more recently.
