Yonathan Rivera-Brito Obituary, Victim in Lake MacBride drowning on Wednesday identified
The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office released the identity of the person who drowned in Lake MacBride earlier this week.
The sheriff’s office says Yonathan Rivera-Brito, 20, of Iowa City died Wednesday after struggling to swim in the water.
Rivera-Brito was near the beach area after 1 p.m. when witnesses noticed the swimmer disappeared underwater.
A dive team recovered their body a little before 3 p.m. The sheriff’s office did not release many more details about the case.
