Car Accident: HIDALGO COUNTY, Texas — The Near Edinburg, a sad accident involving two vehicles has resulted in the death of one person and sent another one to the hospital for treatment. It was around 5:43 p.m. when the incident took place on Depot Road, which is located north of Mile 17 ½ Road.
Both a maroon Ford F-150 and a red Toyota FJ Cruiser were engaged in the event, as stated in a press statement issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS). During the course of the inquiry, the Ford F-150 was heading northbound on Depot Road when it suddenly drifted into the southbound lane for reasons that are presently being investigated. An enormous fire broke out as a direct consequence of the incident that occurred with the Toyota FJ Cruiser.
The Ford F-150 was completely consumed in flames, and the driver, Jose Luis Loredo, 79 years old, was discovered stuck within the car. Loredo was from McAllen. It was determined that Loredo had passed away at the scene, despite the efforts of those who responded to the emergency.
The individual who was driving the Toyota FJ Cruiser was taken to the Doctor’s Hospital at Renaissance because of the accident. We are fortunate that the injuries that were received were not considered to be life-threatening.
