It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Brendan Holiday, known to many as Joseph Annunziata, and to his close friend as Josef. Brendan passed away on Friday, July 26th, 2024, at the age of 54 after spending ten days in the hospital. He succumbed to cardiac arrest, and his dear friend, who considered him family, was by his side every day and at the moment his heart stopped beating.
Brendan was a truly unique and extraordinary person. His sweetness, thoughtfulness, and wit made him a joy to be around. Known for his sometimes wicked sense of humor, his habitual tardiness, and his infectious laugh, Brendan had a million stories that he recounted with incredible detail. His friends could always rely on him to remember the things they had forgotten, preserving the cherished memories they shared.
“Brendan was absolutely one of a kind,” recalls his close friend. “He was sweet, thoughtful, witty, sometimes wicked, always late, had the greatest laugh, and a million stories. Everyone that knew and loved Brendan will miss all the wonderful things about him. We all lost an incredible person.” Brendan did not expect to leave this earth so soon and had not made arrangements for his passing. Honoring his wishes to be cremated, like his mother and father, his close friend is seeking to ensure that he does not end up buried by the state.
In this difficult time, Brendan’s friend is reaching out to his many friends for assistance in covering the expenses of his cremation. Any support is deeply appreciated to fulfill Brendan’s final wishes and to arrange a celebration of life in his honor. Friends and well-wishers who can assist are encouraged to contribute towards the cremation expenses. This support will not only honor Brendan’s wishes but also provide a fitting tribute to a remarkable individual whose memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Brendan’s passing is a significant loss to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His spirit, stories, and laughter will be remembered fondly, and his absence leaves a void that cannot be filled. Condolences to all who knew and loved Brendan (Josef). Your support and remembrance mean the world during this challenging time. Together, we can ensure that Brendan’s legacy is honored and that he is remembered for the incredible person he was.
