Paul Greer, Death Obituary: Paul Olds Greer, age 69, of Woodstock, Georgia, passed away on January 7, 2024, following a brief fight with cancer. He was surrounded by his devoted family at the time of his passing. In Atlanta, Georgia, on April 28th, 1954, Paul Olds was born to his parents, Shirley and Robert Olds. After Paul’s biological father passed away when he was still a young child, his mother, Shirley Greer, and his “dad,” Richard Goldsmith Greer, took care of him and reared him. When Paul was younger, he had a strong interest in automobiles, sports, and radio-controlled airplanes; this was a hobby that he continued to pursue throughout his entire life. Paul began to work for E.R. Wilkerson after he graduated from Dykes High School.
It was there that he gained experience in the trade of restoring antique furniture. After some time had passed, he and a friend decided to start their own repair company, which they called Northside Restorations. During the thirty years that he was in charge of this company, he was renowned as the best. Immediately following the closure of Northside, he and his son James proceeded to establish their second firm, Metropolitan Furniture Restorations. For Paul, dealing with antiques was his passion, and he continued to take pleasure in this interest right up until the day he received his diagnosis. He was a selfless, kind-hearted, and compassionate individual who always kept a good view regardless of the circumstances he found himself to be in.
Particularly noteworthy is the fact that Paul was a devoted and loving spouse, an outstanding father, and an even more remarkable grandfather. Michele, his wife, and his two kids, Richard (Rocio) and James (Uluwehi), are the only people who will remember him. In addition, he is survived by his two grandchildren, Andrew and Cristian, as well as his four siblings, Gillian, Jane, Clark, and Gail (Billy). Richard Goldsmith Greer, Shirley Brown Greer, and Robert Olds all passed away before Paul. Paul is the next in line for the deceased. Funeral services are scheduled to take place in the First Baptist church of Woodstock Chapel on Wednesday, August 18th, at 2:00 p.m. Please consider making a donation to the Butterfly Dreams Farm Therapeutic Riding Program in Paul’s name rather than sending flowers.
