Lee Curtis Tate Obituary, – The victim of the weekend shooting in Bessemer has been identified as Lee Curtis Tate, a 62-year-old man who resided in the area. The incident took place at 9:45 p.m. on Saturday at a business located in the 2800 block of Dartmouth Avenue, where several individuals were gathered in the parking lot.
Upon arrival, Bessemer Fire and Rescue declared Tate deceased at 10:10 p.m. Detective Justin Burmeister mentioned that there were witnesses to the shooting, but many fled the scene following the altercation between the victim and an unidentified suspect. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the case. Tate’s death marks the sixth homicide in Bessemer this year, contributing to a total of 118 homicides in Jefferson County, which includes the five incidents in Bessemer.
