Deane Griffin Obituary – An 88-year-old woman lost her life in a car accident on Saturday afternoon in Lincolnton, as reported by the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. At approximately 12:10 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the US 321 Business near Bynum Road to examine a fatal collision.
A 1990 Chevrolet truck tried to make a left turn onto the freeway from Bynum Road, but turned in front of a southbound 2003 Honda Odyssey, resulting in a collision between the two vehicles.
The driver of the Chevrolet, Deane Griffin, sustained critical injuries and was taken to a Gastonia hospital, where she later passed away.
The Honda vehicle, driven by 26-year-old Brianna McCleave, had four occupants, all of whom were treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Officials stated that no charges are anticipated to be filed in the case, as neither speed nor impairment were contributing factors in the crash.
