A well-known Atlanta business owner was found shot to death in the Old Fourth Ward neighborhood Tuesday, according to his legal representation. Atlanta police said they responded to a person shot at 480 John Wesley Dobbs Ave. NE, near the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historical Park. A Rolls-Royce was found in the middle of the shooting scene. Chad Dillon was identified by his attorney, Malcolm Conner, as the man killed. Conner said Dillon was killed near where he was planning to open a new Jamaican restaurant.
Dillon, who owned the The Boiler Seafood & Crab Boil restaurant in Buckhead, spoke with Atlanta News First back in 2022 about his efforts to help convicted felons get a second chance at life. Chad Dillon was one of Atlanta’s most successful restaurateurs. He opened his first restaurant, ‘The Boiler,’ during the pandemic, making it the first Black-owned seafood restaurant in the city. Since then, Dillon had launched three additional eateries in the Atlanta area, including ‘The Seafood Menu’ with rapper Lil Baby.
