Sheriff Dale McCullick states that the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office got a complaint of a motorcycle accident at approximately 10:13 p.m. on Monday, July 22nd, 2024. The accident occurred at the intersection of State Highway 60 and United States Highway 61 in the Township of Marietta, which is located in the County of Crawford, Wisconsin. David Fillyaw, 43, of Muscoda, was found to be operating a motorbike at an extremely high rate of speed while traveling westbound across the Wisconsin river bridge on United States Highway 61 at Boscobel.
His passenger, Aleisha Bell, 42, of Muscoda, was also involved in the incident. Fillyaw drove over the bridge, crossed both lanes of State Highway 60, and then collided head-on with a rock wall during the collision. In addition to Bell, Fillyaw was also wearing a helmet. Both Fillyaw and Bell were thrown from the heavily damaged motorcycle, and both of them sustained injuries that were immediately life-threatening.
Both Fillyaw and Bell were unable to recover from their injuries, and the Crawford County Coroner Joe Morovits proclaimed both of them dead at the scene of the accident together. At the incident, the Boscobel Police Department, the Boscobel Fire Department, the Boscobel Rescue Squad, Steuben First Responders, the Wisconsin State Patrol, Milo’s Towing Service, the Crawford County Coroner, and Kendall Funeral Services provided assistance to the Sheriff’s Office.
