Desiree Serpas Obituary, – A male suspect has been taken into custody in connection with the fatal shooting of a woman at a well-known hotel in downtown Phoenix earlier this month.
Dominique Terrell Jackson, aged 40, is charged with one count of murder for allegedly shooting and causing the death of 28-year-old Desiree Serpas at the Renaissance Phoenix Downtown Hotel close to 1st and Adams streets during the early hours of Friday, July 5.
At approximately 3:30 a.m. on that day, a security guard discovered a wounded woman in one of the hotel rooms. Emergency services were called, and Serpas was declared deceased at the location. Authorities suspected that her passing was due to a shooting incident, prompting the involvement of homicide investigators.
During the initial stages of the investigation, Serpas’ former supervisor Jessie DuBoce expressed confusion over her presence at the hotel. DuBoce highlighted Serpas’ frugality and dedication to providing affordable experiences for her children, making her presence at the hotel seem out of character.
DuBoce praised Serpas as a remarkable employee who was dependable, accountable, and nurturing, especially towards her young children. Jackson was apprehended on Monday following the discovery of incriminating evidence linking him to the crime. As of now, a booking photo of Jackson has not been released. The investigation is still ongoing.
