Burlington, North Carolina Murder-Suicide Incident – A terrible event occurred in Burlington, North Carolina, on Friday when Lourdes Vega’s husband, Victor Vega, shot and killed her in a murder-suicide. When someone called to report gunshots in the 3300 block of Beaver Creek Road, Alamance County Sheriff’s Deputies responded.
When deputies arrived, they found Lourdes Vega’s body outside the house she had gone to in an effort to avoid her husband. Before going back to their house, witnesses told the police that Victor Vega had shot and killed Lourdes. Upon arriving at the Vega residence, deputies discovered Victor had self-inflicted a gunshot wound and was dead.

Donnie Widner’s passing was made public by a social media post which reads thus ” It is with great sadness that the Ivanhoe Volunteer Fire Department announces the passing of lifetime members and our current Safety Officer Donnie Widner’s passing. Donnie Widner passed today July 19, 2024, after a long battle with his kidneys.
