Fred Latham Death: Fred Allen Latham, age 69, of Belvidere, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2024. Fred was a cherished member of the Belvidere community, known for his love of fishing, old western movies, and the joy he found in the company of family and friends.
Early Life and Family
Fred was born on December 13, 1954, to the late Mose and Margaret Latham. He grew up with a strong sense of family and carried those values throughout his life. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Clyde and Helen Latham; his brother, Forrest Latham; and his brother-in-law, Gerald Crabtree.
Cherished Family Connections
Fred is survived by his three sons, Jason Latham of Belvidere, Jimmy (Kristie) Latham of Belvidere, and Jerry (Amanda) Latham of Belvidere. His family was his pride and joy, and he was a devoted father and grandfather. Fred also leaves behind his sisters, Sue (Tom) Carr, Flora Crabtree, and Martha (Stanley) Pickett, all of Belvidere; his grandchildren Rachel, Dylan, Autumn, Katelyn, Clara, William, Jack, Ethan, Daisy, Luke, Derek, Sadie, and Kelsey; his great-grandson, Kingston; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A Passion for Fishing and Westerns
Fred’s hobbies reflected his love for the simple pleasures in life. He enjoyed fishing, often spending peaceful days by the water. His passion for old western movies was well-known, and he could often be found watching his favorite films. These interests brought him joy and provided a way to connect with those he loved.
A Celebration of Life
A graveside service to honor Fred’s memory will be held at 9:30 am on Friday, July 19, 2024, at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Belvidere. Friends and family are invited to gather and remember the life of a man who brought so much happiness to those around him.
