Melbourne AU, Lachlan Redd Death – It seems that he is still inside the building and will come back soon to retrieve his hat. I have been feeling very sad since our Sub-Organist, Lachlan Redd, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. He was a kind and gentle man, and his warm presence is greatly missed.
In addition to being a highly skilled pianist and organ player with impressive sight-reading and improvisational abilities, he was also very supportive of my singing. He often dedicated his time to practice with me and offered me a lot of words of encouragement. Over the past few years, I was lucky to have gotten to know him as a friend, colleague, and musical partner.
Even though he passed away too soon, his impact was profound. He was the esteemed sub-organist of Melbourne’s St. Paul’s Cathedral. Let’s cherish Lachlan’s love for music, his strong commitment to his Christian faith, and the joy he brought to so many people as we mourn his loss. During this difficult time, our prayers and thoughts are with his family and friends.”
