Heartfelt Tribute
“Friends, please let’s come together during this difficult time to honor the memory of our beloved friend, Dan Marquis, who passed away July 14 2024. Some of Dan’s favorite quotes:
“Disability is not a brave struggle or ‘courage in the face of adversity.’ Disability is an art. It’s an ingenious way to live.” – Neil Marcus
“Death is no more than passing from one room into another. But there’s a difference for me, you know. Because in that other room I shall be able to see.” – Helen Keller
“Everyday life must become itself our prayer.” — Karl Rahner
About Daniel Marquis
Dan was an incredible friend, a joy to be around. His energy was just magnetic, and never short of on the spot sarcastic quips that would leave you clutching your sides from laughing so hard. Dan was an all around talented person, from many hours of streaming him playing his favorite video games, to coming up with original characters and starring in a variety of videos.
He loved going out to see live music, scaring people as a creepy clown at Spooky World, and hanging out with his friends and family. He was the life of the party, and often at times the party would just show up to him. He could take any regular day and turn it into a full on adventure, bringing anyone he could along for the ride.
Dan was a snarky guy, and many thoroughly enjoyed his sassy attitude and quick remarks. He was always the funniest guy in the room, and had a comeback for every jest thrown his way. Even when sometimes things got uncomfortable, he knew exactly what to say to bring the room back on track.
Dan was a loyal friend, a caring son and wonderful brother. He would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He was always ready to offer advice, a listening ear and a shoulder to cry on. To say Dan was a good guy would not be enough, he was a brilliant, empathetic one of a kind person (with emphasis on the word kind). Everyone that has come across his path knows just how loving, accepting, silly, hilarious, and vibrant he really was.
In 2022, Dan’s van broke down and he was stuck at home for months while he waited for it to be repaired. In an effort to help our friend, we all came together and put on a fundraiser show with artists, musicians, friends and family come out from all over in order to ease the burden of such a large bill to be able to be mobile again.
Family Support
Dan had a way of bringing all of us together, and even now that he is gone we are all here sharing the love we had for him. It’s no doubt he would be so grateful for all of the words everyone is sharing. Please consider giving a dollar or two to help his family through this devastating loss. And may Dan rest forever in peace. We all miss you so much already. Rest In Peace 6/7/1990 – 7/14-2024
