Robert Sanz Death – It is with great respect and honor that we announce the passing of a local hero, Robert Sanz, who has left an indelible mark on our community and our country. Robert Sanz, formerly of this area but residing in Houston, Texas, passed away today at the WVU Hospital in Uniontown, PA. Mr. Sanz was vacationing with his wife, Irene, at the Summit Inn Hotel when he collapsed. The cause of death was due to a medical event, not drowning, as ruled by the medical staff and Chief Deputy Coroner John Kondrla, who responded to the call.
Mr. Sanz was a retired Navy SEAL who devoted his life to protecting our country. After his retirement, he continued to serve by training future Navy SEALs and teaching swimming to anyone he met. His dedication to service and his community will be remembered and cherished. He is survived by his wife Irene, children, and extended family. He was 74 years old.
We salute you, sir, and we thank you for your service. We would also like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Summit Inn Staff for their help and kindness to us and to Mrs. Sanz. Your support has made a difficult time much easier for her.
