The Prince George’s County Police Department (PGPD) confirmed that Shahid Omar Jr., a resident of Upper Marlboro, was fatally shot on Friday night shortly after attending a vigil at Wise High School. The shooting occurred in the school’s parking lot around 10 p.m., leaving Shahid Omar Jr. and a woman injured by gunfire.
Despite efforts to save him, Shahid Omar Jr. succumbed to his injuries at a nearby hospital. The woman, whose injuries are reported as non-life-threatening, continues to recover.
