Incident Details
On July 6, at about 2:27 a.m., officers were called to the 4900 block of Snead Road in response to a report of two people being hit by a car. When the officers arrived, they observed a woman and a guy who had been struck while walking on the side of the road. Regretfully, the man, Rashik Cousins, died there. The woman, whose identity has not been disclosed, was transferred to a local hospital. It is not believed that her wounds could be fatal.

The Richmond Police Department is actively looking into the hit-and-run incident. Nothing is currently known about the driver or the questioned vehicle. Police are calling with anyone with knowledge to come forward in order to help identify the person who is responsible for the act. The Southside community has been deeply affected by the tragic event. The family and friends of Rashik Cousins have expressed their sorrow and called for justice.
