Jennifer Fields Obituary, – The woman who tragically lost her life in a fatal crash at the Nutrien Ag Solutions warehouse in Mecklenburg County has been identified as 41-year-old Jennifer Fields from South Hill. The incident occurred on Saturday, July 6, when Fields crashed into a light pole, the warehouse, and two propane tanks, causing a massive fire.
Speed was cited as a contributing factor in the crash, according to the police update on July 8. Despite the efforts of numerous fire crews, the warehouse, used for storing pesticides and fertilizers, was completely destroyed. Fortunately, there were no other casualties besides Fields and a few firefighters who sustained injuries. A total of 15 firefighters were treated for heat exhaustion and chemical exposure.
