Delaney Eary Shot Dead – Delaney’s mother, Noelle Berberich Stoner, has been a longtime coworker and friend of mine. Delaney Eary, 19, was tragically killed in the Florence, Kentucky mass shooting on Friday, July 5, 2024, while attending a birthday celebration. I say this with sad heart because these were my son’s pals. He was present at this party to celebrate his friend’s 21st birthday. He had to watch this horrifying tragedy. It was gut wrenching to receive a call at 4 a.m. on Saturday morning while we were camping. I was quite grateful to receive a call from my son, since other parents did not.
In addition to my son being there and me losing a young guy I had the chance to coach, I received word from a fellow veteran with whom I had close contact during the war that his niece had attended the party but that she had not received any communication from him.
