Sebastian Crawford Obituary – The Wichita Police Department has identified the victim of Monday morning’s fatal shooting in east Wichita as 25-year-old Sebastian Crawford of Wichita. A 22-year-old man from Wichita has been arrested on suspicion of second-degree reckless murder, while a 50-year-old man from Wichita has been arrested on suspicion of criminal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
At 11:08 a.m., first responders were called to the scene of the shooting at an apartment complex in the 200 block of N. Rock Rd. Upon their arrival, Crawford was discovered with a single gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The WPD reported that there were multiple individuals, including two juveniles, inside the apartment. A woman was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation of a condition unrelated to the shooting. No other injuries were reported.
An investigation indicated that Crawford and the suspect may have been acquainted and had been involved in an argument prior to the shooting. This incident marks the 18th criminal homicide in 2024, according to the WPD.
