Gavin Barmore Obituary – A car crash early Sunday morning in Mendon resulted in the death of a 17-year-old from Rutland, with two other teens seriously injured. Vermont State Police received a report just before 6 a.m. about a single-vehicle crash on Notch Road. The car, a 2000 Jetta Volkswagen, was heading in a northwest direction when it veered off the shoulder and collided with a tree.
The driver, identified as Gavin Barmore of Rutland, was pronounced dead at the scene. A 19-year-old man from Chittenden and an 18-year-old man from Rutland were taken to Rutland Regional Medical Center for serious injuries. The state police are continuing to investigate the crash and ask anyone who may have witnessed it to call the Rutland Barracks at 802-773-9101.
