Omar R. Morrow Obituary – The latest victim of gun violence in Saginaw has been identified by the police as Omar R. Morrow, 44, who was fatally shot in a dollar store. The incident occurred at the Family Dollar located at 1908 S. Michigan Ave. around 11:30 a.m. on Friday, June 28. Morrow entered the store alone, and shortly after, another man entered and approached him, shooting him multiple times.
Despite being taken to a local hospital by ambulance, Morrow succumbed to his injuries. The shooting was not an attempted robbery, and the perpetrator fled the scene before the arrival of the police. Morrow’s death marks the 12th homicide in Saginaw this year, with all but one being the result of gunfire, the exception being a hit-and-run. Saginaw had 15 homicides in 2023, the lowest in three years.
