Patricia Portillo, Brayan Alexis Godoy Obituary – Patricia Portillo, aged 49, and Brayan Alexis Godoy, aged 31, were the two individuals who lost their lives in the tragic shooting incident at the Irving Chick-Fil-A restaurant. The shooting occurred on Wednesday at the Chick-Fil-A located at 5300 N. MacArthur Blvd. in Irving. Portillo was identified as one of the victims by the police, while the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that Godoy was the other victim who tragically lost his life. Both deaths have been classified as homicides.
Oved Bernardo Mendoza Argueta, aged 37, was taken into custody in connection with the shooting and faces a capital murder charge, as per the police. An arrest affidavit, as reported by WFAA, revealed that Argueta’s spouse was an employee at the Chick-fil-A and that Argueta entered the restaurant armed with a handgun, resulting in the deaths of the two victims. Argueta’s spouse was present during the shooting and positively identified him.
During a press conference on Wednesday, law enforcement officials stated that they believe the incident was a targeted attack, although further details regarding a potential motive have not been disclosed.
According to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Removal Operations (ERO), Argueta is a citizen and national of El Salvador. ICE and ERO officers in Dallas have placed an immigration detainer on Argueta with the Irving PD, allowing ERO to take custody of Argueta for removal purposes.
The owner-operator of the Chick-fil-A in Las Colinas issued a statement on Thursday regarding the tragic incident.
