Carissa George Obituary, – St. Thomas police have taken into custody and pressed charges against a man who is believed to have fled the scene of a car accident that resulted in the death of a woman over the weekend. John Charles Michael McLellan, aged 35, from Thamesville, is facing allegations of failing to stop at the scene of an accident that led to a fatality. Additionally, he has been charged with two counts of driving a motor vehicle while prohibited, as stated by Chief Marc Roskamp during a press briefing on Thursday.
The victim, identified as 34-year-old Carissa George, was found at the intersection of Sunset Drive and Fingal Line in the early hours of June 22nd. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, George was pronounced dead at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital.
The police have been actively engaging with the public to locate the accused, with McLellan being apprehended by Chatham-Kent police and brought back to St. Thomas for a court appearance.
