The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons has issued a Missing Endangered Alert for 89-year-old John Calhoun McDowell, Jr. of 21st Avenue Drive N.E. in Hickory. Mr. McDowell is believed to be suffering from a cognitive impairment.
He was last seen at his residence by his wife and E.M.S. personnel at about 1 a.m. Tuesday (June 25). At that time, Mr. McDowell’s wife was taken to Frye Region Medical Center. Mr. McDowell never arrived at the hospital.
Mr. McDowell is a white male. He is 6′ 0” tall and weighs 210 pounds. He has medium-length blond or gray hair and blue eyes. Mr. McDowell’s vehicle is a silver 2013 Honda CR-V with North Carolina license tag number BFJ1476. His direction of travel is unknown. He does have ties to Asheville and the Buncombe County area.
