Stephen Lane Obituary, – The individual who lost his life due to a collapsing retaining wall in Brownville on the afternoon of Tuesday, June 25 has been identified as Stephen Lane, aged 67, from Glenburn. According to the Piscataquis County Sheriff’s Office, Lane was working on the wall around 2:45 p.m. when the tragic incident occurred.
Despite the efforts of first responders to resuscitate him, Lane unfortunately passed away from his injuries. Construction had commenced this spring on Railroad Avenue at the underpass, with the replacement of the sidewalk and retaining wall under the railroad bridge. Both the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the sheriff’s office are conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death. At present, no further details are available.
