Connie Anthony Obituary, – The investigation into the elderly couple found shot to death in their home has been concluded by the Americus Police Department (APD). As previously reported by WALB, the incident occurred on Sunday, June 16, when officers were called to a residence in the 100 block of Appleblossom Lane for a welfare check.
According to Sumter County Deputy Coroner Mathis Wright, Connie Anthony, 68, was pronounced deceased at approximately 11:20 a.m., while Clyde Anthony, 72, was pronounced deceased at around 11:25 a.m. Following a thorough examination of the crime scene and interviews with family members, law enforcement officials have determined that Clyde Anthony shot and killed Connie Anthony before taking his own life. The investigation has now been officially closed.
