Jadyn Rowdy Obituary – The Monroe Police Department is currently conducting an investigation into a tragic incident involving a double-shooting that resulted in the death of a teenager and the injury of another individual.
According to authorities, the shooting took place on the evening of Monday, June 24, shortly before 9:30 p.m. Specifically, it occurred in the 400 block of North Secrest Avenue. Upon their arrival at the scene, law enforcement officers discovered two male victims who had sustained gunshot wounds. The individuals were identified as 17-year-old Jadyn Rowdy and 18-year-old Jontavis Hood.
Regrettably, Rowdy succumbed to his injuries at the location of the incident, while Hood was promptly transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Fortunately, Hood’s condition is expected to improve, as stated by officials.
Prior to the shooting, the victims were reportedly outside a residence on N. Secrest Ave. when a separate group of individuals arrived. A verbal altercation ensued, ultimately leading to the tragic event. It is worth noting that multiple individuals involved in the shooting fled the scene before the arrival of law enforcement. The investigators are diligently pursuing all leads and have identified several persons of interest in connection with the case.
