Angela Stewart Obituary – The tragic incident involving the mother and son, Angela and Mason Stewart, who lost their lives in a collision with a Missouri City police car, has deeply saddened the Houston ISD community. In a letter to parents, Assistant Principal Tonya Chevalier expressed the unexpected passing of their counselor, Angela Stewart. The school district has assured that support will be provided to students, parents, and staff members during this difficult time.
The fatal crash occurred on June 20 following a reported robbery at an ATM. The Stewarts were struck by the police car as they exited a Dollar Tree parking lot. Mason, who had recently obtained his driver’s license, was behind the wheel at the time of the accident. Tragically, both mother and son lost their lives at the scene. The officer involved in the crash was hospitalized but later released.
Witnesses recounted hearing a loud noise and witnessing the collision, which resulted in the police cruiser catching fire. Subsequently, a person was discovered in the back of the patrol car, prompting first responders to provide assistance. The individual was transported to Ben Taub Hospital, and although not arrested, their condition remains unknown.
