Officials reported that around 7 a.m. on Friday, officers responded to a call regarding a missing child near a boat ramp. Once they had a description of the child, they began canvassing the area. The search soon expanded, deploying additional resources to aid in the effort.
At approximately 11:30 a.m., crews from the Baltimore County Fire Department located Marcel Traore in the waters of Lynch Cove in Dundalk. He was immediately transported by EMS to Bayview Hospital with life-threatening injuries and was in critical condition, according to officials. Despite the rescuers’ swift and dedicated efforts, it took until 11:29 a.m. to locate the child.
Marcel was pronounced dead at the hospital. This heartbreaking event has deeply shaken the Dundalk community.
