Michael Zannini,Jacqueline Zannini Obituary – The bodies of a man and a woman were discovered at their residence on Hell Hollow Road, and it has been determined that their deaths were the result of a murder-suicide. The state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has confirmed that Michael Zannini was the victim of a homicide, having suffered multiple gunshot wounds to various parts of his body. Jacqueline Zannini, on the other hand, died by a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
The Connecticut State Police have not provided further details regarding the events that took place on Wednesday morning at the residence in this small town in northeastern Connecticut. However, town records indicate that the property was owned by Michael Zannini.
Authorities were alerted to the incident when a 911 call was made from the Hell Hollow Road home at approximately 11:25 a.m. The call initially ended abruptly, but a woman called back shortly after, providing the address and stating that it was an emergency before apologizing and hanging up. Dispatchers noted that there was no previous history of incidents at that address.
Ten minutes later, the first responding troopers discovered an unresponsive man with visible injuries on the driveway. Sadly, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. At 11:42 a.m., the troopers attempted to make contact with anyone inside the residence using a cruiser’s PA system, but received no response. As a result, the police established a perimeter and called in the Emergency Service Unit and Drone Unit to aid in the investigation.
Around 12:30 p.m., a shelter-in-place notice was issued to residents within a 1-mile radius. Additionally, the police deployed the drone team and attempted to locate a woman believed to be inside the home using “phone pings,” which indicated her presence in the immediate vicinity.
Finally, at 3:53 p.m., a drone entered the residence through an open door on the second floor and discovered an unresponsive woman on the stairwell. Tragically, she was also pronounced dead. The Connecticut State Police continue to investigate this incident.
