Alyssa Marie Wheeler Obituary, – The tragic incident occurred when a teenage girl lost her life in a head-on collision on a rural Minnesota highway last Thursday. The collision involved a car and a pick-up truck, and the State Patrol arrived at the scene shortly after 10:00 in the morning.
There were no passengers in either vehicle at the time of the fatal crash. The collision took place on Hwy. 34, just east of Park Rapids in Hubbard County, northern Minnesota. According to the state crash report, the teenage girl was driving the car eastbound on Hwy. 34 when it veered across the center line and crashed head-on into a westbound pick-up truck. The driver of the car was identified as 17-year-old Alyssa Marie Wheeler from Longville, MN, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The pick-up truck was driven by 50-year-old Don Michael Sherman from Akeley, MN, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment. Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the collision, and alcohol was not a factor in the tragic incident, as per the state crash report.
