Emil Tuncel Obituary – Troopers have confirmed the identity of the individual who lost his life on Tuesday morning after his SUV veered off the interstate and overturned into a ditch northwest of Tremonton. According to a report from the Utah Highway Patrol, a bystander notified authorities of the vehicle in a ditch off I-84 at Blue Creek around 5:45 a.m. Troopers arrived shortly after 6 a.m. and discovered a severely damaged Toyota Sequoia.
The SUV had tumbled down an embankment off the roadside, leading to the driver being thrown from the vehicle during the rollover. The car’s only occupant, 22-year-old Emil Tuncel, tragically passed away in the accident. Authorities did not disclose his place of residence.
Further investigation by UHP revealed that the vehicle had been reported stolen from Weber County at midnight, and Tuncel fit the description of the suspected car thief.
Troopers are currently looking into the circumstances that led to the crash. Several lanes of the road were closed for approximately three hours near the crash site.
