Anthony Caton Obituary, – A motorcyclist hailing from New York passed away, and two others sustained injuries in a collision on Interstate 93 over the weekend, as per the New Hampshire State Police.
Around 4:41 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, troopers from Troop F were dispatched to a crash on I-93 southbound close to mile marker 87. Upon reaching the scene, they found three motorcyclists and their bikes sprawled on the ground. According to investigators, a sudden gust of wind caused one of the riders to drift off the road onto a gravel surface.
The motorcyclist then re-entered the roadway but lost control and crashed. The other two bikers laid down their motorcycles in an effort to avoid the collision. The first motorcyclist was rushed to Concord Hospital with severe injuries, while the second rider was treated at Speare Hospital for minor injuries.
The third rider, identified as Anthony Caton, 41, from Round Lake, New York, was initially taken to Speare Hospital, then airlifted to Dartmouth Hospital, where he eventually succumbed to his injuries. Troop F received assistance from members of Troop D, Campton Police Department, Campton-Thornton Fire Rescue, Waterville Valley Fire Department, and Plymouth Fire-Rescue. The accident led to a three-hour closure of one lane as emergency crews operated at the site. State Police are currently conducting an ongoing investigation into the crash.
