Nathan Phillips Obituary – The Ohio State Highway Patrol has confirmed that a passenger in a pickup truck involved in a collision with another car was killed in a fatal crash in Richland County early this morning. The incident occurred on SR-13 near mile post 7 in Washington Township around 5:04 a.m. on June 19, as reported by OSHP.
According to OSHP, a 2004 Dodge Dakota was traveling north on SR-13 when the driver veered left of center and collided with a 2015 Subaru Outlook heading south on SR-13. The Dodge rolled over and came to a halt at the side of the road, as per OSHP.
A passenger in the Dodge was pronounced dead at the scene, confirmed OSHP. The deceased individual was identified as 48-year-old Nathan Phillips from Mansfield, according to OSHP. OSHP reported that the 36-year-old female driver of the Dodge from Mansfield, along with a 40-year-old male passenger in the Dodge, sustained serious injuries and were taken to Ohio Health Mansfield.
The 34-year-old female driver of the Subaru from Ashland was treated and released at the scene, as stated by OSHP. Both Phillips and the Subaru driver were wearing seatbelts, noted OSHP, while the Dodge driver and another passenger were not.
OSHP mentioned that the crash is currently under investigation. The Mansfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol received assistance from the following agencies at the scene:
