Emily Tropeano obituary, Carbondale PA, grief counselors available as graduate passed away; The Carbondale Area School District informed the community on Wednesday that Emily Tropeano, a 2024 graduate, has passed away. Emily died on Tuesday, as confirmed by Larry Gabriel, Carbondale High School assistant principal.
“We are devastated by this loss, and our thoughts and prayers are with the family,” Superintendent Holly W. Sayre said in a release on the district’s website. Sayre also provided guidance on how students and parents might best cope with the loss.
“A sudden loss like this can have a strong emotional effect on students,” she stated in the release. “For that reason, please listen to what your child may have to say regarding the death and discuss his or her feelings and reactions.”
Emily Tropeano graduated with academic honors on June 2. She was a member of the cheerleading squad and completed a senior internship with the City of Carbondale. In a post on the district’s website in October, Mayor Michele Bannon remarked, “Watching Emily immerse herself in our day-to-day operations is humbling. She understands our mission every day is to honorably serve our residents with dignity and respect, no matter how small or large the task.”
“On behalf of the Carbondale Area family, our deepest sympathies are extended to the family,” Sayre concluded in the release.
