Jay Slater Missing, Tenerife Spain, Family Appealing For The Help Of The Public In Locating 19-year-Old: An intense hunt is underway in Tenerife to locate a teenage British missing person. Jay Slater, a resident of Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire, went to the Spanish island with his buddies for a music festival, but he is currently missing there. Before his phone died yesterday, June 17, he last spoke to his friend Lucy at around eight in the morning.
Lucy mentioned that Jay had gone to stay with someone he had met on the island during a night out. However, their apartment was “in the middle of nowhere,” and when Jay left for his walk back yesterday morning, his phone ran out of juice. His phone was last detected in the National Park of Teno, also known as Rural de Teno Park, a famous hiking destination. Jay told Lucy ‘he didn’t know where he was’ before his phone died.
His family receives help from the Foreign Office. Jay’s disappearance has been reported to Spanish police, and it is now thought that several searches are under progress. On the island, a massive search is currently in progress to try and locate Jay. On Wednesday morning, June 19, searches are scheduled to continue in the vicinity of the village of Masca.
