Talan Jones Obituary, – A man killed in a crash near Laingsburg on Friday has been identified as Talan Jones, 18, of Elsie. Police said Jones was driving south on Hollister Road, near East Parker Road, around 11:20 a.m. Friday when his vehicle rear-ended a U.S. Postal Service vehicle driven by a 34-year-old woman from the Laingsburg area.
The teen was thrown from his car and was pronounced dead at a hospital, the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office said. The woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The sheriff’s department released Jones’ name on Tuesday. Services for Jones, a 2024 graduate of Ovid-Elsie High School, will be held Friday, June 21, at 3 p.m., at Smith Family Funeral Homes in Elsie, according to a published obituary. Visitation time will be from 1:00 PM that day until the time of service. He took classes at Lansing Community College and worked at the YMCA, the obituary said. “Talan will be remembered for his strong mind, biggest heart and personality,” it said. “People were always drawn to him and he just wanted the best for everyone.”
