Darylyn Supernant,Renee Didier Obituary, – The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) have confirmed that two cousins who were reported missing in Dawson Creek, B.C., have been discovered deceased, with their remains found weeks apart. On Tuesday, authorities announced the identification of Darylyn Supernant, who was last seen alive on March 15, 2023, at the age of 29.
Supernant’s remains were located on April 19, 2024, along the 219 Road in Dawson Creek. DNA testing was conducted to confirm her identity. This comes shortly after the confirmation of the death of her cousin, Renee Didier (Supernant), who went missing on December 2, 2023, and whose remains were found near the Kiskatinaw River on May 18. Both women are Cree and are believed to have had different social circles. These cases, along with two other missing individuals in Dawson Creek, have sparked community-wide searches and raised concerns about public safety.
The RCMP reported an increase in gang-related violence during that time, leading to the deployment of additional officers from the Uniform Gang Enforcement Team to support local police. The investigations into the deaths of Didier and Supernant are still ongoing, and the police have not established any connections between the missing cases or linked them to gang activity in the region. If you have any information, please contact Dawson Creek RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
