Consuelo Cordova De Hernandez Obituary – The 53-year-old driver who was killed in a crash with a semi-truck after failing to stop at the posted stop sign has been identified by the Fresno County Coroner’s Office on Tuesday. The coroner’s office identified the woman as 53-year-old Consuelo Cordova De Hernandez of Riverdale.
On Monday around 1:20 p.m., California Highway Patrol officers say they responded to a two-vehicle crash on Kamm and Jameson Avenue in Fresno County. Investigators say a 70-year-old was driving a commercial semi-truck westbound on Kamm Avenue, approaching the intersection with Jameson Avenue. Kamm Avenue has the right of way, having no stop signs.
CHP says the driver of the Chevrolet, Cordova De Hernandez, failed to stop at the posted stop sign and drove into the intersection directly into the path of the approaching semi-truck. The semi-truck collided with the Chevrolet’s right side, causing major damage to both vehicles.
The semi-truck and trailer rolled onto its side, and CHP says the solo occupant of the Chevrolet succumbed to her injuries at the scene. The driver of the semi-tuck sustained minor injuries.
