Denton Denny Lee Oakes Obituary – A fatal accident occurred on Monday afternoon around 2:30 p.m. in Bell County, involving a coal truck and a Red Bull delivery truck. The collision took place on Highway 118 near the intersection of KY 2012. Upon arriving at the scene, a sergeant from the Bell County Sheriff’s Department observed that the Red Bull truck had collided with the back of the coal truck.
After conducting an investigation, authorities determined that the coal truck, which was fully loaded, had pulled out onto Highway 119 towards Pineville at a slow speed. Unfortunately, the Red Bull truck, traveling in the same direction, crashed into the coal truck, resulting in the death of the delivery truck driver, Denton “Denny Lee” Oakes, a 53-year-old man identified by the Bell County coroner. The sheriff’s department has confirmed that drugs and alcohol were not contributing factors in the incident. Fortunately, the driver of the coal truck escaped uninjured. The Bell County Sheriff’s Department is currently conducting an ongoing investigation into the matter.
