Austin Matthews Obituary, – An official has confirmed that a teenager has lost their life in a fatal accident that occurred on Friday in the Pee Dee region. LCpl. Lena Butler from the South Carolina Highway Patrol reported that the crash took place shortly before 5:30 a.m. on Secondary 606 near S.C. 401, just east of Olanta. According to Butler, a 2017 GMC 1500 traveling north veered off the left side of the road and flipped over.
Tragically, the driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. The deceased has been identified as 16-year-old Austin Matthews from Kingstree, as confirmed by Florence County Coroner Keith Von Lutcken. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is currently conducting an investigation into the incident.
