A Tecnam P2006T twin-engine aircraft that crashed in a field at Spruce Mountain Road and Sky View Lane, just east of Interstate 25, claimed the lives of two people, according to a Federal Aviation Administration speaking representative.
At approximately 7:45 a.m., the crash occurred.”Was the pilot trying to make an emergency landing and just incidentally hit the sign, or were they actually doing something they weren’t supposed to be, flying over the highway and struck that sign?” Feith inquired.
Fire trucks and other emergency vehicles were obstructing the three northbound right lanes of traffic, according to footage a Colorado Department of Transportation camera captured nearby. According to the FAA, the National Transportation Safety Board will head the investigation into the crash, which will be conducted in conjunction with them.
